Q: How do I place an order?

A: Order online through our secure shopping cart, download an order form from the website and fax it in, or call us at 1-905-430-9894 and one of our customer service representatives will be glad to assist you.

Q: Is it safe to order over the Internet with my credit card?

A: Yes! At Gifts for Every Reason, we have been accepting credit cards online since 2005. We use Internet Secure to handle all credit card processing. A credit card number, expiry date, 3/4 digit security code and credit card billing address are required to process all orders to ensure YOU have the card with you and have authorization to use it.

Q: What is Verified by Visa?

A: Verified by Visa is a global Visa program designed to help make shopping online more secure for both consumers and merchants. A Verified by Visa personal password you choose provides an extra level of protection against unauthorized use of your VISA card when you shop at participating online merchants. By signing up for Verified by Visa, and shopping at Verified by Visa enabled merchants, your VISA card can only be used by you to make online purchases.

How easy is Verified by Visa to use?

A: Simply enter your card information at the online merchant's checkout as you normally would. Your VISA Card Issuer will then ask for your personal Verified by Visa password. Once your password has been confirmed by your VISA Card Issuer, your transaction will go forward for completion.

Q: Why didn't I see Verified by Visa on another site I ordered from?

A: Over time, more and more online stores will be participating in Verified by Visa. Gifts for Every Reason, is required to use Verified by Visa by its credit card processing company (InternetSecure) for security purposes.

Q: Can I customize a basket?

A: Yes. You may customize any gift Baskets by substituting items. If ordering online, simply type in your substitution request under ?additional information or special requests? area or contact us via phone or email. Fresh Flowers and Fruit Baskets CAN NOT be customized.

Q: How much do custom design baskets cost?

A: Substitutions of equal value are no extra charge. For more complex custom baskets, we will work with you to design the basket to suit YOUR price and gift needs.

Q: Can I send gifts to multiple addresses through your shopping cart?

A: No. At this point, the shopping cart will only accept 1 delivery address. For multiple addresses, please download our order form and fax or email it back to us to process.

Q: What are delivery times?

A: LOCAL HAND delivery is Next day. Delivery is Monday to Saturday.

A: For All other areas in Canada (outside our local area) Delivery is Monday to Friday as follows:

Ontario and Quebec (2-5 business days)

Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI (3-4 business days)

Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta (4-6 business days)

British Columbia (5-7 business days)

Newfoundland (8+ business days)

Q: Can you deliver Same Day?

A: Most orders received by 9:00 AM may be able to be delivered Same Day (except during our peak holiday times).

To ensure freshness, ALL baskets are made when you place the order. Our staff needs time to make and wrap your gift basket before the courier comes at 10:30am to do their pick up for the day.

Q: How will my order be shipped?

A: Local hand delivery areas are shipped with a local courier and delivered wrapped in cellophane with a hand made bow.

A: All other areas in Canada (outside our local area) are shipped via Fed Ex Ground. Shipped baskets are wrapped with bubble wrap and packed in boxes cushioned with heavy Kraft paper. Extra cardboard inserts are used to provide extra protection.

Q: Can I ship my gift anywhere?

A: Our gifts ship within Canada only. Gifts to USA, EUROPE, ISRAEL, UK can be found under INTERNATIONAL GIFTS through our affiliate. CAKES and FLOWERS can be Shipped across Canada and USA.

Q: What if the recipient is not home when the gift is delivered?

A: The courier will first try to leave it with a neighbour. If no neighbours are home, they will leave it in a safe (ie. on a covered porch). In either case, a delivery notice will be put on the door.

If all else fails, the courier will try to call the recipient to make alternative delivery arrangements. Gifts for Every Reason, will also contact you the sender, should there be any delivery issues.

Q: Why do you need my recipient?s phone number?

A: We request recipient phone numbers in case the courier can not locate the recipient. If an address is incomplete or incorrect the carrier may need to contact the recipient to request address verification.

Q: Can I include alcohol in my basket?

A: Gifts for Every Reason is not licensed to sell or ship alcohol. We can include a Gift Card to the LCBO (liquor Store) or The BEER Store as an alternate. Both can be added at checkout.

Q: Is there sales tax on my order?

A: Tax is charged based on the location of the recipient. 5% GST is charged on all orders in Canada. Additional 8% PST is charged when the gift is being shipped to Ontario.

(this policy to change in June 2010 when the new Harmonized tax comes into effect).

Q: Will my gift look identical to the one in the picture?

A: Our gifts will come with the same exact items that are described in the product description. During busy holiday seasons we may substitute a product that is out of stock with a similar product of equal or greater value so the value of the gift is not changed. As well, we may substitute delicate chocolates in the hot summer months to prevent melting. We update our website daily with any changes and or substitutions.
